read through my SS lorms notes on meritocracy and it was a reality check for me...

its the most important principle cos good governance must be based mainly on ability and not race, religion, good looks, wealth or social status. schools take in students based on their results and who cares if you have a superb port-folio cos it wont help in you getting into a school with shit results..
reality's like that cos you've got to work for what you really want in life and others will get it as long as they work that bit harder than you.

so...jonathan, if you know what you want in life, then work hard for it and dont be lazy no more.
brace up and get on with what youre supppposed to do to get where you want to...
know your target and work hard towards it...
